Caswell Conferencing Facilities

Caswell Science & Technology Park is to offer conferencing and exhibition facilities to external businesses following a successful event involving a UK trade association.

The thriving multi-occupancy site, operated by regional technology parks specialist Fasset, hosted a suppliers’ tabletop exhibition run by the National Microelectronics Institute (NMI), the premier trade association representing the semiconductor industry in the UK and Ireland.

Upwards of 40 delegates attended the day-long event, which attracted plaudits from the NMI for the way it was so well run by Fasset’s team.

Now Fasset is to use the event as a platform to provide other business-to-business events at Caswell, which has 170,000 sq ft of mixed-used office, manufacturing and laboratory space.

Mitch Avis, Fasset’s account manager at Caswell, said: “The NMI complimented us on the excellent standard of service, support and professionalism involved in staging its event.
“There is now a template for success in hosting exhibitions, trade shows and seminars for businesses attracted to our campus-style business hub, which nestles in lovely countryside near the A43 and has ample free parking and superb corporate catering facilities.”

Anchor occupier Oclaro, a multi-national specialising in hi-tech optical components, last year awarded Fasset a contract to breathe new life into the under-occupied site by creating and managing space at competitively-priced packages for outside businesses.

The business hub was officially launched last summer, with 13 companies now on site.

Meanwhile the latest business to move into the park’s serviced suites at Caswell House, a former manor house on the 25-acre park, is Red 4 Design Projects, which designs and builds exhibition stands for major venues across the UK and Europe.

Red’s director, Simon Buchan, said: “Caswell Park is ideally situated, with its proximity to the M1 and M40. We travel throughout the UK and therefore this was a primary concern, not to mention the attractive rural views, the on-site security and well maintained site, and all at a very competitive price.”
