Lift Off for Elevator Firm at Caswell
A THRIVING business hub with record occupancy in Northamptonshire continues to grow with the arrival of a 16th firm.
Lift installation specialist LTR Elevators has signed up to a six-workstation office at 25-acre Caswell Science & Technology Park near Towcester.
Caswell, run by regional technology parks operator Fasset, is now home to 16 companies employing nearly 220 people between them since the official launch last year.
Anchor occupier Oclaro, a multi-national supplier of optical network components and other high-tech products, awarded Fasset a contract to transform the under-occupied site by creating and managing space at competitively-priced packages for outside businesses.
Fasset’s long-term plan for Caswell, which has 170,000 sq ft (15,793 sq m) of mixed-used office, manufacturing and laboratory space, is to more than double the numbers of people on site to 500.
LTR Elevators, which installs passenger and commercial lifts and is headed up by Managing Director Alan Dunkley, relocated from Hinckley, Leicestershire. He said: “I wanted to be closer to home and an internet search came up with the technology park – a site visit confirmed our view that this campus-style business hub was the ideal location to take the company further. You can’t beat being in the company of like-minded entrepreneurs because the energy rubs off on everyone.”
Other companies that have moved in include e-learning specialist LearnAbility, marketing company Markit 4, business analysts KBBS, promotional video production firm IntroDisk and Red 4 Design Projects, which designs and builds exhibition stands for major venues across the UK and Europe. International consultancy RPS, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, and Diamond Hard Surfaces, a high-tech developer and producer of hard-wearing coatings for advanced engineering applications in a diverse range of industry sectors, such as oil and gas, motorsport, aerospace and medical, are also tenants.
Fasset’s sales executive, said: “There is a real sense of pride and passion here now, with a record 16 firms on site playing a role as a driver of regional economic regeneration. “The skill sets of the different businesses are simply astounding – something the county should be celebrating.”
Occupiers have access to corporate-grade facilities, including a restaurant, main reception, cleaning, mail, 24/7 security, access control and free parking, as well as an IT infrastructure. Fasset’s portfolio includes Langstone Technology Park near Portsmouth, Hampshire, where 3,000 people work for 35 on-site companies. For space availability please visit:
